Less Stress & Anxiety, More Meditation

We all have experienced some form of depression in our lives. Whether it be from mental or health illnesses, divorce, anxiety, alcoholism, gambling, work issues, etc.  This could have just started for you or it could have been occurring for years and looks like it will never go away. If this is you, it’s time to consider meditation.

Anyone can practice meditation. It's simple and inexpensive, and it doesn't require any special equipment. And you can practice meditation wherever you are — whether you're out for a walk, riding the bus, waiting at the doctor's office or even in the middle of a difficult business meeting.

It takes a matter of seconds and can lasts as long as you want it to. To meditate, just close your eyes and take three long deep breathes. Focus only on your breathing and how your body feels at this moment in time. Do this at least three times a day. Doing this will reduce stress and anxiety and you will begin to feel good inside. But remember, this is a daily exercise. Repetition is the mother of skill. Keep doing it until it’s ingrained in your head that you need to do this daily and three times a day.

This Month’s Challenge:

If you want to push it up a notch, the next time you meditate, think of future events in your life that you want to happen to you. As you focus on your breath, also focus on the feelings you’d get once you have achieved the goals you have set out to do. This is the best feeling. Then open your eyes.
